Nuno Sousa Vieira

Leiria, Portugal, 1971. He lives and works between Leiria and Lisbon. Has a doctorate in Painting by the Fine-Arts School of the University of Lisbon, with the theses called: O Ateliê – Do Mundo Para o Lugar. Sala de Exposição (1971/2015). His research seeks to identify and recognize strategies and methodologies used in the creative practice in order to index the works a contextual dimension, either at the time of production – the atelier, the exhibition or the exhibition hall. In his artistic practice, he falls back to different strategies for production and to exhibit his works, with the intention to understand how the same artwork could be received in different geographies and contexts and how does the same procedures can cause differences.
