Soren Dahlgaard
Born in Copenhagen in 1973, he lives and works in Australia. He studied at The Royal Academy of Architecture, Copenhagen, Denmark, and at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, where he graduated in 2002. His work is unique and bold, incorporating a certain critical stripping away that contributes to a broader and more current contextualization of painting, including radical and daring interaction with the public. Several of his series incorporate nature and food as a starting point or product for intervention.
For over ten years, he has performed and participated in solo and group exhibitions in various countries, being one of the youngest and most promising European artists. He has participated in the most important Biennales in the world and has several books published about his work, including (Dough Portraits), published by Thames & Hudson, recently launched in Brazil at the ART Rio 2015 fair. His works are in the collections of several museums around the world, including the Rio Art Museum (MAR).
