Gauthier D’Ydewalle

Lives and works in Brussels (Belgium). Graduated in philosophy and political science at UCL in Belgium. He is a journalist, art critic, and columnist. A self-taught photographer, in 2002 he created a studio dedicated to still-life photography. He initially worked in cinema with a large technical format before transitioning to high-resolution digital photography. In 2011, he devoted himself exclusively to a photographic project exploring the relationship between image and thought through book representations.

He held a major solo exhibition in 2013 at the Bibliotheca Wittockiana in Brussels. His work is part of the collection of the King Baudouin Foundation. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Brazil and abroad, primarily in Europe. He has won several acquisition prizes and others, including international residency awards. His works are included in the collections of various museums around the world, such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels and the Museum of Art of Rio (MAR).
