José Ivacy
(1962, Morada Nova-MG)
Since the 1980s, he has worked extensively on pieces characterized by craftsmanship and the manipulation of various materials, primarily wood and metals. His paintings and objects reveal a complex interplay of geometric and organic forms, charting his unique path in the field of inventiveness. He has participated in several group exhibitions of artists in Brasília and is currently devoted to his studio work in Sobradinho.
Ivacy creates singular constructive projects with works designed both for inside and outside any proposed space, offering unprecedented and transcendent contributions as rare as those of Celso Renato, Emanuel Nassar, and Marcone Moreira. These are artists unafraid of possession and the transformative, transmuting “king time.” They leverage their deconstruction, reinvent themselves, and redefine painting, breaking free from the formalist trap.
Ivacy liberates painting as an object with extraordinary courage and audacity, transforming matter and time into a Unity of Poetry.
