The Karla Osorio Gallery expands its horizons and inaugurates its São Paulo branch with the exhibition “Unfolding Time”, bringing together six represented artists: Bené Fonteles, José Ivacy, Matheus Marques Abu, Moisés Patrício, Selva de Carvalho, and Verena Smit. The opening event will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in a new and reflective space in Vila Mariana, near MAC USP.
About Karla Osorio Gallery and Its New Branch
Founded in 2017, the Karla Osorio Gallery was born in Brasília with the aim of valuing contemporary artists and fostering innovative reflections on the world through art. Over the years, it has expanded its national and international presence, participating in renowned art fairs across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Now, the gallery establishes itself in São Paulo, at the heart of the Brazilian megalopolis, bringing a space that merges tradition and avant-garde in the visual arts universe.
About the Exhibition “Unfolding Time”
The inaugural exhibition presents unpublished and historical works by six artists, each with their own unique artistic vision and distinct aesthetic: Selva de Carvalho and Verena Smit explore a pulsating and provocative feminine poetry in their works. Matheus Marques Abu and Moisés Patrício reflect on the Afro-diaspora through large-scale and impactful paintings. Bené Fonteles and José Ivacy connect with nature, the Cerrado, and its roots, incorporating elements of the land into the urban jungle. Inspired by Oswald de Andrade’s Anthropophagic Manifesto, the exhibition invites the public to immerse themselves in art as a means of communication, reflection, and transformation.
