Rodrigo Mogiz

Rodrigo Mogiz (1978, Belo Horizonte, MG) Lives and works in Belo Horizonte. B.A. in painting and drawing from the School of Fine Arts of UFMG, also performs curatorship and community work. His authorial work addresses poetic transiting between drawing, painting and embroidery, also using application beads, lace and pins. His works create very poetic and delicate narratives that exude great strength and extreme creative rigor.

Since 2000, he participated in solo and group exhibitions throughout Brazil, in public and private institutions such as the Museum Guimarães Rosa (Cordisburgo-MG), Cemig Art Gallery and Copasa Art Gallery (Belo Horizonte-MG). It was selected for various halls and festivals such as: 20th Hall Art Anapolino, Anapolis – GO (2014), Winter Festival of Ouro Preto and Mariana – Hall Diamantina, Ouro Preto – MG (2013). Their work also covers the performance as “While drawing on its surface,” the exhibition “What is drawn” (Art Museum of Pampulha / Belo Horizonte-MG -2015); and “Embroider Me” (SESC Venda Nova, Belo Horizonte / MG) and Casa do Baile, Belo Horizonte / MG – Between exposure (lines) -2014.

It also participates in project where he teaches the art of embroidery. Several awards received, as I Hall Cataguases-Usiminas Visual Arts – (2004), Project Art in Bathroom / Food di Buteco (2006) and CNI-SESI Marcantônio Vilaca for Arts-Plastic (2009/2010), Transarte Award ( 2015).
